Group Creative Director at AKQA
Ian Wharton is Group Creative Director at ideas and innovation company AKQA and author of Spark for the Fire: How Youthful Thinking Unlocks Creativity. At AKQA, Ian has represented clients including Volvo Cars, Formula 1 and Virgin Atlantic, alongside leading its annual global student competition Future Lions.
Previously, Ian led the creative output of tech startup Zolmo, known chiefly for its Apple Design Award-winning apps for Jamie Oliver – some of the top-grossing, top-rated apps with over 15 million downloads. During that time, Zolmo was ranked in Design Week’s Top 50 Design Consultancies. Ian has since been named an Art Director’s Club ‘Young Gun’, one of BIMA’s Digital Hot 100 and Campaign Magazine’s A-List.
