Global Director, Digital Marketing at BBC Worldwide
Anna Rafferty is the Director of Digital Marketing at BBC Worldwide, in which she sets the overarching digital marketing plans for major launches and well as world-renowned brand franchises like Top Gear and Doctor Who. She is the editorial lead for BBC Worldwide Digital Studios and tasked with driving the corporation’s reputation in the marketplace for digital innovation.
She joined from Pottermore, J.K. Rowling’s digital publishing, e-commerce, entertainment and news company, where she was Director of Product, Content and Creative. During her time there, Rafferty oversaw its redesign with new content, creative, publishing and technology strategies and worked closely with franchise partners to launch both Harry Potter and the Cursed Child the play and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the blockbuster movie.
Prior to Pottermore – Rafferty spent 11 years at Penguin Books where she was MD for its Digital Division. She worked with major talent and IP including Roald Dahl, Jamie Oliver, Stephen Fry, Penguin Classics, John le Carré, Malcolm Gladwell, Zadie Smith, Peppa Pig, The Snowman and Beatrix Potter amongst many others.
