Product and Service Design: Conscience winner 2018

Cancer Research UK Technology Products

by Cancer Research UK

Project information

For the Technology team at Cancer Research UK, having a conscience means getting the most value from our 2 of 4 supporters’ money. Our technology products are the reusable components that form the building blocks of our supporter experiences and give other teams in the charity the tools that they need to achieve their outcomes. In early 2017 we moved Race for Life on to the technology products, saving the charity saved over £1 million pounds in duplicated development and support costs.

Using Agile and Lean methodologies to develop our products and enabling staff to self-serve using a standard way of doing things also helps us keep our promise to spend our supporters’ money wisely. All of this means that we can move at pace and make sure that we reach 3 in 4 people surviving cancer by 2034.
