Steve Vranakis

Executive Creative Director at Google Creative Lab

Steve believes that ‘creative people are more powerful than they think they are’ and can help tackle some of the world’s biggest problems through their creativity, he calls this ‘creative activism’.

In the last couple of year’s he’s been fortunate enough to work on projects like Jacquard – a series of conductive threads woven into clothing making them interactive, Assembly of Youth – an installation at the United Nations alerting world leaders to global issues being faced by young people, Project Bloks – a tangible programming platform that helps kids learn to code and the Refugee info Hub, a mobile site built with the IRC to help Syrian refugees fleeing civil war keep safe.
