The Entry FAQs
Get your entries in before the deadline on 11 June. We've put together the guide below to help make the process simple and easy. But if you have a question not answered please call us on 020 7843 6797 or email awards@bima.co.uk. You may also find this short video of top tips helpful.
Preparing Your Entry
Entries must be submitted via the online entry form, which will ask you for the information set out below. Asterisked (*) items are compulsory. Please note that in the event your entry wins a BIMA Award, the details on your entry form will be used to engrave your trophy and publicise your win. Please be careful to submit correct spellings etc as we can't always correct errors further down the track. Any entry which is produced in collaboration with another company must have the agreement of both (or more) parties that the submission can go forward to the competition. If there is a dispute the entry may be disqualified and the entry fee forfeited.
Also note that all information you want the judges to consider must be supplied via the online entry form and you cannot upload video. So if, for example, you wish the judges to view a show reel you will need to provide a link to where this can be viewed online.

- Judging Info *
This is your chance to tell the judges why you should win the specific category you have entered and ask to be considered for any relevant premium awards. Your submission should include reference to the judging criteria (see below) and explain how your project ticks these boxes. Back-up your claims with hard data. For example, if you're saying the project increased the client's reach, audience or revenue – by how much? - Special instructions (optional)
Provide any log-in details or instructions the judges may need to access your project or experience it in the way you intend. - Synopsis (optional)
We recommend that you provide a brief blurb (up to 100 words) about your project that (in the event you win a BIMA Award) we will use to publicise your win – for example, by including it in the Book of the Night. Please note that we retain editing rights, and BIMA accepts no responsibility for errors or misinformation you have provided. In the event that you win but have not provided a synopsis, we will write one based on publicly available details and those you provide elsewhere with your entry. - Screen grabs (optional)
We recommend that you upload up to 3 high res screen grabs of your project (as jpg or gif files up to 4mb each). In the event that you win we will use these images to publicise your win – for example, in stage set visuals and the Book of the Night. - Supplementary Link (optional)
Your chance to provide a link to supplementary info you wish the judges to see, such as a video show reel.
Once you have these details ready and you have reviewed your written submission and included all information you believe the judges will need - you are ready to enter the awards. Click here to do so now!
The Judging Process
All submissions go through two rounds of judging, with judges marking against the following criteria...
Creativity
The judges will be looking for evidence of how a brief has been brought to life in a particularly original and creative fashion. Is it original or innovative or just a rehash of ideas in another medium? Has it really been thought through?
Interactivity
Is the project genuinely interactive or simply online? Has it broken new ground and pushed the concept of interactivity forwards?
Effectiveness
Did the project achieve outstanding results? In order to score well against 'effectiveness' (and therefore overall) entrants must provide data that helps the judges arrive at their decision. Where possible try to express results in absolute rather than relative terms – statements such as "we increased traffic to the site by 300%" can be treated with suspicion by judges.
Execution
This is about production values. How well has the project been put together? What is the quality of visual and technical design? Does it work as expected or does it contain bugs? Is it easy to use (good usability and information architecture)? Does it meet accessibility or web standards guidelines?
